Towards an Economy of Nature
In 1983 ecologist Robert Ricklefs first published The
Economy of Nature, and this book is now in its 5th
edition (W.H. Freeman & Company). Twenty years later
Gretchen Daily and Katherine Ellison published The
New Economy of Nature: The Quest to Make Conservation
Profitable (Island Press, 2003). The movement towards
an ecological economy has been gaining momentum for
two decades, and the sites listed in this section provide
additional insight into the meaning and implication
of this shift.
