Earth Assets Group Launches Comprehensive Environmental
Website
San Francisco, CA - The Earth
Assets Group (EAG) announces a new Internet resource dedicated
to environmental market development and ecological asset
management made possible by voluntary restoration of ecosystem
services.
"Environmental markets
are increasingly the solution-of-choice for government agencies
dedicated to improving health and welfare," said William
Coleman, founder and principal of EAG. "Eco-asset markets
and incentive programs offer effective alternatives to new
penalty-based environmental regulations. Results clearly show
that environmental incentive programs work, and that ecological
assets have a big role to play in the global economy."
Incentive programs reward individuals
for voluntarily improving ecosystem health and environmental
quality above minimum standards set by regulations. The result
is a measurable improvement in the quality of air, water,
land and biodiversity resources. These enhancements benefit
the general public while also rewarding the private sector
in the form of transferable credits and allocations, or targeted
government subsidies and tax incentives.
"Through its Website,
Earth Assets Group will pull together and analyze information
from around the world related to the environmental marketplace
and ecological asset management," said Coleman.
"The result will be a powerful demonstration of
the effectiveness of reward-based, market-driven environmental
programs. Whether you live in California, Costa Rica,
China or Croatia these assets represent an essentially
undeveloped source of natural capital. Our goal is to
make EAG a principle knowledge provider in this emerging
business arena."
The EAG webpage (www.earth-assets.com)
provides both free and subscription based services.
